The Slocum Players, it seems, will not be able to open their Sassy Ape Theater as was hoped. When the lease is up, they will be moving out. The restrictions and regulations and the cost of renovation to meet the codes where just too much for the small company.
So what's next? I had a brief conversation with long-time Slocum associate, Jim Fully, he was confident that the right thing would pan out "sooner or later." "You just never know," he said.
When asked if they would mount a Christmas show, Fully responded with, "I think we should be able to manage that at least." Last year they presented an excellent 'radio drama' of "It's a Wonderful Life" in space borrowed from Friends of the Carpenter.
