This is a fantastic opportunity that will provide the following:

Each of our actors has the opportunity to act in up to 300 shows per year, with no show minimum required. This means that they may participate in as few or as many shows as they desire, an excellent arrangement for actors with separate non-industry employment or those interested in taking on additional projects. The Murder Mystery Company also pays a base $75/per performance and pays via direct deposit. We also reimburse gas and pay for travel expenses. If you choose to travel to a non-local performance we will handle flights and lodging.

The Murder Mystery Company has been active in the national theater community for over ten years and is third in record ticket sales in the US. Our shows run year round with a multitude of fun themes changing periodically to give our repeat customers something new to look forward to.

AUDITIONS: "Fiction" for Serendipity' Players

Serendipity Players announces open auditions for "Fiction" by Steven Dietz, April 6, 6-8 p.m. and April 7, 7-9 p.m. at the Vancouver Eagles Lodge, 107 E. 7th Street.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No prepared pieces are needed. Please bring headshots and resumes if possible. If you can't make one of these dates, please contact the director and an alternate appointment may be made. It is not necessary to attend both days.

Performance dates are weekends June 13-June 29. All performances, rehearsals and auditions will take place at 107 E. 7th Street, Vancouver, Wash.

Both open roles are available to actors of any ethnicity. Actors from all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to audition. The ages stated are guidelines only.

Linda- mid 40's, a writer and teacher, a woman who isn't afraid of much
Abby- mid 30's, a woman from Linda and Michael's past; more than meets the eye.

The role of Michael has been cast. This is a volunteer, non-equity production. 

ABOUT FICTION BY STEVEN DIETZ

Linda and Michael, successful writers who happen to be married to each other, thrive on the give-and-take of their unusually honest relationship. But when they decide to share their diaries, the boundaries between past and present, fact and fiction, trust and betrayal begin to break down. No life, it turns out, is an open book.

Michael and Linda Waterman have been married for twenty years. Michael is a successful author whose books have been made into blockbuster films. Linda is a professor of writing whose first book, At The Cape, earned her nationwide critical acclaim. Together, they form a feisty partnership that thrives on intellectual banter and subtle competition. All works well in the world of the Watermans until Linda is unexpectedly diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. The doctors give her only three weeks to live.

Faced with this news, Linda offers Michael her diaries as a dying gift, asking him to read them after she is dead. In return, she asks Michael if she may read his. Although her dying wish makes Michael uncomfortable, he cannot deny her.

AUDITIONS: Enchanted April at RSP

Rising Star Productions announces auditions for "Enchanted April" on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m., at their theater in the Three Rivers Mall (Kelso, Wash.). 

This show requires adult actors, 5 women and 3 men. Auditioners should be post-high-school age. Click here for the full cast list. They will need one older (60+) woman, 2 middle-age (30-50ish) women, 1 younger (20-30ish) woman, and 1 woman who can be any adult age. We also need 3 men to match the women (late 20's - 50ish). The director is not as concerned with your chronological age as much as your ability to look/act the appropriate age. These ages are only general guidelines.

This is a non-musical. There are posted scene readings here. Please look them over and come prepared to read them fluently and with expression (in character to the best of your ability based on the reading you have access to.) Memorization is not required at this point.

AUDITIONS: Two Dinner Theater Plays

Serendipity Players is holding auditions for all roles in our first
dinner theater one act show to be held at El Presidente in Vancouver.

We’re seeking men and women of various ages and ethnicities. Please
see character descriptions and synopsis below. Auditions will be held

Kal is at a loss in regards to the state of his life. He’s a bit
surprised (and skeptical) to find God in the next seat. There are
answers to Kal’s questions, just not the ones he was expecting.

at least 3 men and 3 women, there will likely be doubling.

Readings will be held for both plays at the auditions. You only need

AUDITIONS: Agatha Christie Mystery at Magenta Theater

Magenta Theater announces auditions for "Black Coffee" written by Agatha Christie and directed by Amanda Goff, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.), Monday July 22, 2013.

The play features the beloved Christie character Hercule Poirot  who is summoned by England's most prominent physicist, Sir Claud Amory. Amory fears that someone in his household is attempting to steal his latest discovery, a formula critical to England's defence. Poirot, with Captain Hastings at his side, rushes to get there, but arrives too late: Amory has died, his formula is missing and anyone in his country house, full of relatives and guests, could have been responsible.

Love Street Playhouse, The Columbia Theatre to Collaborate on "The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge!"

The Teasing Tickler Tile released early this week.

The Columbia Theatre in Longview, Wash. and Love Street Playhouse in Woodland, Wash. are teaming up to present "The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge" a holiday sequel to the Charles Dickens classic Christmas tale.

The play was written by Mark Brown, an award-winning writer and actor (his plays include "Around the World in 80 Days").

The show will be produced by the Columbia Theatre and directed by Melinda Leuthold, Owner and Artistic Director of the Love Street Playhouse in Woodland, Wash.

ABOUT THE PLAY

"The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge"

One year after his miraculous transformation, Ebenezer Scrooge appears to have reverted to his old ways. Amidst plenty of mayhem and laughter Scrooge indignantly files suit against Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. The charges: breaking and entering, kidnapping, attempted murder and the intentional infliction of emotional distress. With Scrooge representing himself (to save a pound), and London’s charismatic and clever barrister, Solomon Rothschild representing the ghosts, what will become of the spirit of Christmas? The classic Dickens’ characters return to take the witness stand in this courtroom farce. The final verdict: Disorder in the court!

WHY THE COLLABORATION?

“Over the past three years, we have been exploring opportunities to collaborate on a number of community projects in order to make the most of the Columbia as a cultural asset,” says Columbia Theatre executive director Gian Paul Morelli. 

“I was especially keen on 'spicing up' the holiday season with a homegrown effort. It was our technical director, Kelly Ragsdale [who has been doing the lighting designs at LSP since Joe Jenkins moved to Utah], who kept urging me to visit Love Street to see Melinda’s work. I did. I was charmed and delighted by the quality,” he continued.

“If this project succeeds, the Columbia hopes it will be the start of an annual holiday tradition—an event that showcases the richness and depth of talent Southwest Washington has to offer. Working with Melinda [Leuthold] and the Love Street Playhouse gives both our organizations an opportunity for more exposure in each other’s community.”

AUDITIONS: For "The Laramie Project" at Serendipity Playhouse

In October 1998 Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. 

Five weeks later, Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project went to Laramie, and over the course of the next year, conducted more than 200 interviews with people of the town. From these interviews they wrote the play which chronicles the life of the town of Laramie in the year after the murder.

Serendipity Players is holding open auditions for men and women of all ages and ethnicities for The Laramie Project. Auditions will be held 1 p.m. May 18 and 19 at the Serendipity Playhouse, 500 Washington St., Vancouver, Wash. 

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, no prepared pieces are required. Headshots and resumes will be accepted but are not required. Upon being cast, actors should be prepared to perform 8-10 roles. Rehearsals will begin 7 p.m. June 3. Performance dates are weekends July 26 - August 18.

STAGE COMBAT! 
Actors, swordsman, class clowns! Come learn some basics of how to perform hand to hand combat and dueling techniques for the stage. Have you ever wanted to drag some one across the room by their hair? Or look like a Musketeer? Come learn how to do that safely and make it look good for an audience.

This class, instructed by Brian Reed, will teach short choreography for both styles and safety, and how to read written choreography. Class instructor will be Brian Reed, an actor, stage combatant, and fight choreographer with thirty years of experience. Wear clothes for movement. Class recommended for ages thirteen and up. $35.00 for the class.

AUDITIONS: David Lindsey-Abaire's "Fuddy Meers" at Serendipity

Serendipity Players is holding open auditions for all roles in "Fuddy Meers" by David Lindsay-Abaire from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 1 and 2. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

No prepared pieces are needed. Headshots and resumes are welcome, but not required. If you can’t make one of these dates, please contact the director and an alternate appointment may be made. It is not necessary to attend both days.

Performance dates are weekends beginning on May 31 through June 23, with one Thursday, June 6. All performances, rehearsals and auditions will take place at 500 Washington St., Vancouver, Wash.

AUDITIONS: "Camelot" at Longview's Rising Star Productions

Rising Star Productions announces auditions for "Camelot" 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12 in their theater space at Three Rivers Mall (down by Macy's, across from Big 5) in Longview, Wash.

Bring a song if you've got one with sheet music for the accompanist. They will be doing a little bit of dancing with the women first at 7, then we'll listen to you sing (around 7:30) and finally we'll do some readings from the script. If you can't be there right at 7, just let them know and come as soon as you can.

They will be performing "Camelot" at Three Rivers Mall on April 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27, 2013. Click here to see the rehearsal schedule.

If you arrive before the mall closes, they are down near Macys. If you come after the doors are locked, please enter through their outside door. It is near the bus stop between the food court and Macy's. There is a Rising Star Productions sign on the door.

Auditions are for adults and high school age teens. Please come prepared to sing a Broadway-style song. Bring sheet music for the accompanist. Be prepared to stay the entire time as we will do cold readings from the script after I have listened to you sing.

Don't let the singing keep you away -- we just need to know your range. There are a few non-singing roles, and many ensemble roles that do not require you to be a soloist.
