"The Best Christmas Pageant EVER" at 1st UMC

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" will be presented by Vancouver's First United Methodist Church Players and feature Portland's North End Players' regulars Debbie Larsen Walker, Sue Harris, and Amy Harris, under the direction of Tim Luke.

I have never seen this play, so here's the synopsis from Samuel French:

"In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids--probably the most inventively awful kids in history. [In the book they swear, smoke cigars, are abusive, etc., but according to Samuel French there are no cautions for the play.] You won't believe the mayhem, and the fun, when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!" [I also understand the show is quite touching and redemptive.]

December 13, 14 and 15, Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. The shows are FREE (donations for the theater ministry are gladly accepted). Shows are at the First United Methodist Church, 401 E. 33rd Street, Vancouver, Wash.

Even though it's a short run, I plan to review the show just for fun (and no more rhyming, I mean it...).
