VCT Presents 19th Annual One-Act Festival

Vancouver Community Theater

It's that time of year again, when Vancouver Community Theater presents their annual One-Act Festival. This time around (year 19) the troop will present two plays: "Case Closed" a gumshoe melodrama, and a period piece (1775 Paris) "The Invisible Invalid."

"Case Closed" follows detective Paul Pemberton (also an antiques dealer) as he is thwarted by his arch-enemy Smash Snarkley.

"The Invisible Invalid" involves the efforts of Suzette, a wealthy woman who, with the help of her aunt, try to fend off the persistent Clement.

The pair plays 7 p.m. tonight March 1, March 2, 15 and 16 with 2 p.m. matinees March 2 and 16 at the Manor Grange, 17901 NE 72nd Avenue, Vancouver, Wash. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. Call 360-892-4292 for more information.

  1. Does this group have a website? I have never heard of them and would love to get involved in one act plays in the future!

PS - I don't comment very often on your blog but I want to tell you that I read all your play reviews. I go to a lot of community plays in the SW Washington area and have a lot of fun reading your blog to see if I agree with your comments. :) Thanks for starting this blog. It is a great reference of all things community theater in our area.

  2. Thank you Glendyne. No, even though it is Vancouver's oldest operating theater group it has no website. It is run by two sisters who are older (so they even have trouble with email). They are probably the areas most amateur theater group; there are some good actors, but frequently they have some that are really green as well. I once wrote and directed a show for them. They could use our support. Check it out.
